Guild of Professional English Butlers
Robert Watson has spent his whole career working in the world’s luxury hotels, starting off as a humble commis waiter he has progressed to running his own Butler training company.
Very much the Butler’s Butler he’s often called in as a troubleshooter to appraise butlers and service staff both in private households as well as in top hotels worldwide. With over 40 years of experience in the art of butling services Mr. Watson is well qualified to pass on his high standards which are fundamental to guest satisfaction.
Robert was responsible for setting up and training butlers for London’s Lanesborough Hotel where outstanding service led to an average yearly occupancy of over 90%. During his six years at The Lanesborough, Robert developed many of the systems, standards and training which has kept this hotel at the forefront of the luxury hotels of the world. During his time there Robert was asked by Rosewood Hotels to set up and train a Butlers department at The Dharmawangsa Hotel in Jakarta. Very shortly after its opening, The Dharmawangsa became renowned in south east Asia for its high level of guest care and attention to detail and this confirmed Robert’s belief in his training methods and encouraged him to form his own company.
Since setting up The Guild Of Professional English Butlers Robert has undertaken projects in 5* hotels, Royal Families, VIP clientele, Executive Business clients, Ministers, Presidents, Hotels, Resorts, Jets, Private Yachts, Cruise Liners.
Robert is a Director of both the Gentlemen Butlers Guild and the Guild Of Professional English Butlers. Over the past 15 years Robert Watson has been involved in the set up and training of butler departments in many hotels here we name a few:

Founder chairperson of the Royal Indian Butlers
Mr. Subramanian is the founder chairperson of the Royal Indian Butlers, India and also serves as a founder member of the Guild of professional English Butlers with Mr Robert Watson. He has had a long standing International career of more than 18 years in butling and hospitality services.
Raj is a powerhouse of hospitality knowledge and butler service intelligence. He has been associated with many brand names of the Ultra Luxury hotel industry such as Oberoi, Sheraton group of hotels in India and Burj al Arab, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Silversea Cruises (Monaco), Sandals Resorts and Grace bay Resorts internationally to name a few.
In the year 2000 he was supervising a team of 120 Butlers at Burj Al Arab, the most luxurious hotel in the world where he rendered Butler Services to many crème de la crème clients like Dr.Nelson Mandela, HRH Sheikh Mohammad of Dubai , HRH King Abdullah of Jordon, HRH King Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia, HRH Princess Shadana of Brunei, Ms. Venus Willams, MS.Cindy Crawford,Mr.Ferrari,HRH Prince Philip- Duke of Edinburg to name a few. Since then he was associated with the GOPEB in various projects.
Raj has won many accolades and awards including the Best Employee of the month award at the Burj al Arab in 2002 and “Manager of the Year” award for 2006 in Sandals Resorts, Jamaica. Mr. Subramanian has an intense understanding of the Caribbean hospitality trends, his specializations includes pre opening new properties, setting guidelines and operating manuals for the Front of the house departments including Concierge and Butler Services. A man with the butler Midas touch, he has been a vital instrument in pulling up the highest scores in challenging properties thus turning around the overall performance and giving the properties face lift.
